Smith Brain Connections is a nonprofit dedicated to Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) education. They foster connections between leading experts in the field of TBI research and public health workers, policymakers, and medical staff to improve the outlook and quality of life for those who have suffered TBI’s.

I directed, filmed, and edited this intimate mini-documentary. Its aim is to shed light on the tragic accident and TBI diagnosis that necessitated the creation of Smith Brain Connections, and the Smith family’s ongoing mission to educate and help others.

“Spencer’s Story” is used to introduce the nonprofit at speaking events, and has helped them to secure state funding. It has surpassed 200,000 views on YouTube.
